The Elgar Complete Edition

The Elgar Complete Edition is intended for both scholarly and practical use. It aims to provide an authentic text of all Elgar�s surviving music, based on printed and manuscript sources and employing critical editorial principles. Each volume includes an editorial foreword, including an account of the context, genesis and first performance of each work, together with a critical commentary on manuscript and printed sources, variant readings and editorial emendations. Sketches, drafts, rejected passages and incomplete works are presented in appendices. The edition is projected in 43 volumes.
