New Exhibition Opens - Symphony No. 2 in E Flat, Op. 63
May 2011 sees the centenary of the first performance of one of Elgar’s very greatest achievements, his Symphony No. 2 in E flat, Op.63. The soundscape is as luxuriant as anything he ever wrote, and the music is as personal – the second part of the trio of hyper-personal works which form his musical autobiography – the Violin Concerto, Symphony No. 2 and the Music Makers.
