The Elgar Birthplace Museum's objective is "to celebrate the life and achievements of Edward Elgar, and to inspire all visitors with his love of music." Education underlies everything we do, and we want our formal and informal educational provision to serve all ages from schoolchildren to the University of the Third Age generation.

Formal Education
To bring your school group to the museum, please contact the Museum Director to book:

free preliminary teacher's visit
visits: £1 per schoolchild, including a copiable worksheet for teachers
introductory talk (museum not designed for guided tours)
Carice Elgar Room, free of hire charge but must be booked, for eating own refreshments
juice and biscuits (small charge)

For use in school, we have for hire a selection of:
exhibitions (£25 per month)
handling boxes (£5 per week)
photographic resources (£10 per month)

Informal Education
Writing poems, drawing pictures, making music and discovering crafts are among the many activities we organise for children and adults during half-term and summer holidays.
