Education provision plays a key role in our overall policy towards the unique collections that we hold and the services that we provide our visitors. It underlies our aim to promote Elgar’s music and to encourage a greater understanding and awareness of Elgar as a man and composer, of the times in which he lived and the influences upon his work of friends, places and contemporary composers.

Over recent years we have focused on two key areas: providing opportunities for life long learning through a variety of temporary exhibitions and special events, and providing an enjoyable Schools’ based service through outreach work.

Our aim for the future is to develop our life long learning opportunities by working collaboratively with regional higher education institutions to provide a quality programme of recitals, lectures and workshops.
