Free Concert Tickets from The Elgar Birthplace Museum.

Saturday 28th February sees the gala concert at Worcester Cathedral commemorating the 75th anniversary of the death of Worcester's favourite son, Edward Elgar.  The concert will feature two of Elgar's greatest works, his Symphony No. 1 and The Music Makers, with Catherine Wyn-Rogers, the English Symphony Orchestra and the Elgar Chorale conducted by Elgar expert Donald Hunt.

The Elgar Birthplace Museum had 2 top-price tickets available for this concert.  All visitors to the Lower Broadheath Museum between Monday 23rd and Friday 27th February inclusive were invited to answer a simple question about Elgar, and all correct entries were entered into a free draw.  The draw took place on Friday, and the winner, Carol Jones and guest, will join the throngs at the Cathedral.

Museum Director, Catherine Sloan said "Saturday's concert promises to be a very special occasion.  The Mayor of Worcester will be attending, as will other dignitaries, and we are extremely grateful to Elgar's great nephew for making the tickets available to 2 lucky visitors to The Elgar Birthplace Museum. ”
