150 years on, the Birthplace remains the memorial to England’s greatest composer. It houses a unique collection of manuscripts, letters, photos and artefacts. It is also the worldwide centre for research on Elgar’s life and work. About 10,000 people visit the Elgar’s Birthplace every year. In 2007 visitors can now see a permanent exhibition of Elgar’s life and work and have access to:

  • over 200 manuscripts and sketches
  • over 10,000 letters to and from Elgar
  • family scrap books
  • rare film footage
  • photographs and original paintings
In addition there are regular concerts and lectures, plus a museum shop with a large collection of printed scores, CDs and books.
